These are our two mural sketches. Feel free to tell us which one you like the best or what you like from either one of them. We already have our final sketch and have already traced it on the wall. We actually do not want anyone (other than Janet Peden, who lives in Bay City, and the members of The Boy's and Girl's Club) to see the mural before our final presentation. We believe that it will be a lot more impacting to see the final mural on the wall versus seeing it in a picture.
Yesterday when we visited Bay City we traced all of the figures and began to taping the inside of them. The taping is so that when we paint the background we won't get any paint on the other figures. When we began to trace it was difficult to see the figure since the projector wasn't well focused. Then we had technical difficulties, which was one of the worst things ever! The figures wouldn't appear on the wall! Thanks to Elber Reyes, which we had to call for help, we were able to fix the problem. Taping had to be by far the hardest and most annoying thing to do. Since a lot of the figures are rounded off we had to also round the tape. We were very lucky to get help from my mom, sister, and Janet Peden.
We plan to go to Bay City again this coming up Sunday. We will begin to paint the mural completely and hope to finish by Thursday. We will be back on campus by Friday, February 18 in order to give a few sneak peaks of our mural... but not the complete thing until our presentation in May.
I admit both sketches are really good, but honestly I like the first one with all the kids instead of with the mountains. Of course that all depends on you, but maybe there' a way you can incorporate both sketches into one? Also I like the way you guys have it all planned out. Maybe take picture after y'all are done with the mural. One suggestion might be that maybe y'all can tape you progress day by day and make it a fun experience by taking film of how everything goes...sort of like a documentary. Just saying, it'll be cool to make a video out of it and show the world when you post such a documentary onto your website.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of your tips! I do like the idea of having all of our progress on a video. We have been taking some pictures already, but I don't think that we have taken enough. I do like the video one though because it will be action clips of what we are really feeling. For example the other day we got really frustrated and we didn't capture that not so happy moment on video. But I think that it would be really cool to be able to capture all of our happy moments and be able to put them together at the end. And it would be perfect for the website! :D
ReplyDeleteI like both sketches, but I too like the first one with the stars better. It's great that you guys are being very organized with your time and don't waste it. You are being very productive even if you have had a few technical difficulties. I can't wait to see the end product. Keep up the good work guys.
