We have been suggested by Ray Griffin, our director, to paint another mural in our school gym's entry way... Yes, it would be very exciting to paint another mural, but it totally defeats the purpose of Painting Smiles. What do you think?
The whole point of Painting Smiles was to make disadvantaged, young children smile with our mural. Yes, we do have disadvantaged children at Chinquapin, but at least for me I had more in mind children with diseases or children who are growing up in tough neighborhoods. I honestly wanted to reach out outside of Chinquapin.
I have that same feeling of "What do I do now?" I also like the idea of painting another mural because we have the the supplies, colors, and time but I would also really prefer a place outside Chinquapin. I think if anything we can always go back to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and help make dreams come true by painting theme colored rooms. But I guess we'll have to see... I do feel very satisfied with the mural we painted thought!! :D
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a nice mural.! I wish I could see it in person. I think a lot of people want to see it in person. So I think that it would be nice for you to paint something closer to us. Just so that we can see your talent.
ReplyDeleteI think you should paint the mural here at school. I mean does it really hurt anyone if you do? You said so yourself you have nothing to do so you could use your new found talent to do something productive. I also mention to Brenda that you guys could create some sort of reflection piece whether it be an essay, video, podcast, anything that comes to mind. I think if you wrote a reflection it would benefit you guys to see how you have grown and it would benefit us to see what kind of things we might run into into.
