A family friend helped us with finding the location. She knows of a Girls and Boys Club that was just built in Bay-city, Texas. The club has been very excited about our project and can't wait to work with us. They already have a wall where they want us to paint the mural. Brenda and I will soon go to Bay-city to talk to the director of the club and see what we want in the mural.
The best part is that we have gotten a sponsor to pay for all of our supplies. Business company, Bowen, Miclette, & Britt (http://www.bmbinc.com/) has been very generous to us by offering to pay for everything.
We are very excited to have a place to paint and we can't wait to get started. Thank you so much to all of those who have been helping us find
Well done! Keep us posted on the process. What are the next steps for you?
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to include labels (tags) -- this will help you and your panel members out later.
ReplyDeleteI am very proud of you Rebeca. What are you planning to paint ? What will you do after you finish your mural?
ReplyDeleteSo now that you have the place, what's the time? When do you plan on beginning the mural?
ReplyDeleteThe next steps are to figure out what we are going to paint and what lesson we are going to teach the children. We wanted to teach an art class so we have to figure out what we would like to teach them. For the actual mural we wanted to meet the children first and get a feel for the area before taking a final mural and just beginning to paint. We want to begin painting in February during Creativity Week. And as for what we are going to do after painting of the mural we want to have a survey answered by the children to see how they have been affect by the mural and how it has influenced them and their learning.
